Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician II in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician II (Variable Shift. 0.0 FTE) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This is a supplemental position and fill in for sick and vacation days and will be asked to work day, evening, night, weekdays as well as weekend shifts.
In this position you will:
Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, label and dispense medications and other health care products in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Fills and dispenses unit dose, IV Admixtures, and/or chemotherapeutic medications under the direction of pharmacists.
Collect & verify patient medication histories.
Perform routine pharmacy work that may include inventory, sterilization and maintaining patient records.
Calculate drug volumes to deliver correct dosages.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) equivalent
Certified by the National Certification exam (PTCB or ExCPT) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
Current license to practice as a pharmacy technician in the state of Montana
Upon hire: Valid Montana State Driver’s License, motor vehicle record, and current insurance
Experience with the preparation of all types of I.V. admixtures including minibags, syringes, and large volumes
Working knowledge and experience of all policies and procedures related to the preparation of I.V. admixtures
Knowledge of I.V. admixture pumps and related computer software
Working knowledge of aseptic technique
Clear understanding of medication names and medical terminology
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One (1) year of experience working in an I.V. admixture service within an acute care setting
Previous practical experience in a hospital pharmacy
