Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician I - Inpatient in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician (1.0 FTE, Variable shifts) to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
The entry level pharmacy tech supports Pharmacy services under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist.
In this position you will:
Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, label and dispense medications and other health care products in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Fills and dispenses unit dose, IV Admixtures, and/or chemotherapeutic medications under the direction of pharmacists.
Collect & verify patient medication histories.
Perform routine pharmacy work that may include inventory, sterilization and maintaining patient records.
Calculate drug volumes to deliver correct dosages.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Completion of approved pharmacy technician training program
Active WA Pharmacy Technician license from the Washington State Department of Health (PHTECHL)
Pharmacy Technician National Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 90 days of hire
Minimum of 3 months of practical experience in a hospital pharmacy under the direct supervision of pharmacist
Experienced in IV admixture/aseptic techniques
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- One to two years previous hospital pharmacy experience
