Providence is calling a PharmacyTechnician (Outpatient Pharmacy, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to ProvidenceSacred Heart Outpatient Pharmacy in Spokane, Washington.
Our outpatient (retail) pharmacy provides a high
level of service that includes a bedside delivery service, stocking specialty
medications, and maintaining close relationships with hospital and clinic
providers. We work closely with our providers, nursing staff, and social
workers to ensure everyone receives the care they need.
As one of our pharmacy technicians,
you will be trained for a diverse skillset. Our technicians help maintain
provider relations, navigate complex billing situations, and work with
specialized medications that are not commonly seen in a typical community pharmacy.

This is a supplemental variable
shift role and will work day, and evening shifts as well as some weekends and
holidays. You will also be expected to cover sick calls on short notice
in addition to filling scheduled shifts.
In this position you will:
Assist licensedpharmacists to formulate, fill, label and dispense medications and otherhealth care products in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Fill and dispensechemotherapeutic and other specialty medications under the direction ofpharmacists.
Extemporaneouslycompound medications that are not commercially available.
Collect &verify patient demographic information, medication histories, allergyinformation, and insurance coverage.
Perform routinepharmacy work that may include order entry, billing, inventory,sterilization and maintaining patient records.
Calculate drugvolumes to deliver correct dosages.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) equivalent
Washington state pharmacy technician certification
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Pharmacy technician experience in a retail setting preferred
Preference for demonstrated initiative
