Providence Health & Services Manufacturing Pharmacist in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Pharmacist (Pharmacy, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services in Tukwila, Washington. This position is responsible for the production and distribution of sterile products in a 503b FDA regulated facility to sites within the Providence St. Joseph Health System and to provide high quality drug products produced under Current Good Manufacturing Practices. The pharmacist will play a key role in the oversight of preparation and dispensing of sterile products which requires specific knowledge in compounding and product formulation of intravenous therapies. In this position you will:
Perform required checks and verifications of sterile products throughout the compounding process
Complete documentation related to sterile product preparation accurately and timely
Supervise pharmacy technicians’ preparation, labeling and packaging of sterile intravenous admixture solutions
Monitor the cleaning and disinfections of the primary engineering controls and the clean room environments
Ensure performance of routine maintenance of the primary engineering controls and the compounding room environments
Follow all applicable laws and regulations related to the control, preparation, dispensing and documentation of controlled substances
Support and enforce PIHS standard operating procedures and FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices for 503b pharmacies
Provide customer service by responding to customers’ technical or product-related inquiries
In conjunction with manager, supervise staff, staff scheduling and manage workflow and production in adherence with PIHS SOPs
Participate in PIHS Quality Assurance activities
Participate in orientation/training programs for new team members and current staff
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures with manager approval as required
Assist in the development of new product formulations Learn and remain current with new developments in 503b pharmacy regulations by reviewing FDA guidance documents, FDA Form 483’s, and FDA warning letters and attending webinars and training programs
Support and incorporate the mission into daily activities
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required qualifications for this position include:
B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist
Experience with sterile compounding C
Current Washington State Registered Pharmacist License
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Hospital Pharmacy experience
Completion of an ASHP approved residency program
